About the role
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will build, maintain, and scale backend services and APIs for our web applications. You will design reliable backend architecture, write production-quality code, and collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA.
What you will do
- Develop backend services using Python and FastAPI, with PostgreSQL as the primary database.
- Design and maintain reliable RESTful APIs and backend architecture.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested production code.
- Optimize database queries and application performance.
- Implement authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
- Review code and mentor other engineers.
- Participate in system design, technical planning, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA.
What you bring
- Strong experience with Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Git, Docker, and cloud environments.
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience.
- Experience designing and building production backend services and APIs.
- Ability to write maintainable code and contribute to automated testing and quality practices.
- Experience with database query optimization, application performance, and production reliability.
- Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Redis.
- Experience with automated testing practices.
