About the role
We are looking for a SQL Engineer with strong QA/SQA experience to test web applications and help ensure software quality before release. You will create and execute manual test cases, validate APIs and data, maintain automated tests, and work with developers and product managers to resolve defects.
What you will do
- Create and execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory test cases.
- Perform API testing using Postman and validate application data using SQL.
- Identify, document, and track bugs using Jira or similar defect-management tools.
- Investigate defects with developers and product managers and support timely resolution.
- Maintain automated tests using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and release testing.
- Support software quality throughout the SDLC and STLC.
What you bring
- 2–4 years of QA/SQA experience.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing across functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory scenarios.
- Practical experience with SQL for data validation.
- Experience with API testing using Postman or a similar tool.
- Experience with defect reporting and tracking using Jira or a similar tool.
Nice to have
- Experience maintaining automated tests with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Work arrangement
This is a full-time, onsite role based in Austin, US.
